Menlo Park Courtyard Residence

Taking the best of California modernism and injecting it with our seamless take on indoor/outdoor living, we sought to provide an open and airy courtyard-style residence for a young family originally from New Zealand. Here, what would otherwise be doors and windows become expanses of pocketing glass and retractable and transparent barriers, framing the relationship between a high-ceilinged airy indoors and the infinite outdoors. Crisp interior and exterior materials come into conversation with rich warm woods and luxurious furnishings, continuing the connection between textures, spaces, and uses.
