Church Street Residence
On this urban streetscape punctuated mostly by the nearby church spires, Dumican Mosey introduced a bold, modernist infill residence that stays grounded and anchored into the existing neighborhood by its ground floor facade of a recessed band of warm wood. Above this, the project is elevated and lifted both practically and conceptually by the introduction of a glass-walled two-story white cube. The clarity of the house is in rich dialogue with the visual texture of the neighboring church and the relatively anodyne nature of the street, creating a singular visual impact.
