Clear Creek Tahoe Residence
Located on a pristine parcel near Lake Tahoe, Dumican Mosey envisioned this ground-up residence as a continuation of its alpine environment. The texturally-rich home combines board-form concrete walls with steel detailing, articulated wood panels, and large expanses of glass. Placed on custom concrete piers, the home hovers above the landscape, the encompassing views and spaces flowing about the piers like boulders in one of the surrounding streams. While the front elevation feels comparatively restrained and linear, in section the profile is defined by a soaring, faceted roof reminiscent of glass shards that alternatively cast sunlight and shade on the interior. The result is a home that feels distinctly rustic yet modern, and very much of a place.
